WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Hello and welcome to Alpha Dog Canine Daycare Centre, a family run business offering fun days out for your doggies on acres of our privately-owned farm! The business is run by Donna and Rob, together with our amazing canine carers. The farm, based in Streetgate, Sunniside has been in the family for 3 generations, initially as a dairy and arable farm, and latterly ran as a livery yards for local equestrians.
Donna and the team are experienced, trained handlers and life-long dog owners, that enjoy delivering the highest levels of care to our day care dogs that we love like our own. Alpha Dog caters for a range of dogs, in terms of age, breed and personality……
What about the older dog that can’t sustain the pack frolics of a large dog walking gang but still loves to amble amongst other, friendly dogs at their own pace?
What about the dog that needs exercise but dislikes being out in cold and wet weather for too long?
What about the dog that is prone to running off and can’t ever enjoy the freedom of being ‘off lead’?
And what about the dog that craves one to one mental stimulation as much as physical exercise?
And this..…..is the reason why Alpha Dog was born!
WHERE WE ARE TODAY….
We started our venture in 2018. Donna gained an OFQUAL Level 3 qualification in Professional Canine Day Care and Boarding, Level 3 in Canine Training and Behaviour, a certificate in Canine First Aid, a 5-star ‘higher standard’ licence by Gateshead Council and a purpose designed, climate controlled indoor daycare barn and outdoor play paddocks with stringent entrance criteria, dedicated staff, a low staff:dog ratio all carefully controlled within acres of private land. Since then Alpha Dog has flourished as a hugely popular daycare business with a portfolio of long term doggy clients that we know and love like our own…..

You want your dog’s day to include a 121 lead walk in our field?
We are happy to feed any meals/food that you supply. We are also happy to administer any medication/injections your dog may require.
Socialising in our secure outdoor play paddock allows of-lead playtimewith lots of toys, tunnels, jumps and balls to entertain and stimulate.
We don’t take dogs off the farm or leave them in vans and we don’t walk several on leads at the same time so your dog will have fun and feel no stress.
Organic chew sticks each day…with owners permission, different sizes for different dogs!

We meet all elements of the ‘DEFRA Animal Welfare Regulations 2022’ as a minimum standard, as well as additional quality and health and safety standards in order to ensure that dogs in our care receive the highest levels of care possible.
